About Courtney Linehan
In 2022, I led teams that launched both a corporate flagship website and a new internal communications system designed for the remote work era. This year, I\'m leveraging what I learned through the two projects to create more coordination in our messaging. That\'s my super power: I bring focus to what we say and how and when we say it so the message gets through to busy, distracted stakeholders.
Experience
Adjunct Professor
Aug 2014 — Present · Lisle, IL, US
I teach in the Communication Arts department, structuring courses to foster student understanding of the rapidly shifting media landscape and to equip them with the technical and soft skills to ensure their voices are heard and respected regardless of the platform where they publish. In Editing for Publications, students develop expertise in use of grammar, punctuation and AP style, as well as ethical decision making as a media manager and consumer. In Sports Journalism, students learn the fundamental differences and similarities between Sports and other newsroom departments, including the structure and foundational elements of a game story, profile and feature writing, interview skills and avoiding conflict of interests.
