ABOUT COURTNEY FERNANDEZ
Aristotle once made the profound statement: “All human beings, by nature, desire to know.” For some time now, my desire to understand the complexity of the human body has driven my interest in the biomedical field. The prospect of a rewarding career in biomedical research, where my work can help further understanding of human disorders and in turn help improve the lives of those affected by them, is very exciting. Currently, I am a biology instructor at Jefferson State Community College. I teach Principles of Biology and Human Anatomy and Physiology. I am active in both community and school outreach in the city of Birmingham. I am particularly interested in advancing science education by merging common technology and education based objectives to prepare students for a more STEM literate society.
