ABOUT COURTNEY TRIPLETT
I am currently a 3L at the University of South Carolina School of Law. I worked as an extern at Charleston Legal Access throughout the fall semester primarily doing legal writing and research. Over the summer, I worked as a law clerk for Jason Scott Luck, Attorney at Law firm within the respective spheres of criminal defense, appellate advocacy, probate, and wrongful death civil liability. I also had the privilege of working as a summer law clerk after for Pisgah Legal Services after the completion of my first year, primarily within the domestic and sexual violence program. In addition, I worked as an intern for the Richland County Public Defender’s Office my first and second years of law school. Additionally, I am an executive board member of UofSC Law’s Moot Court Bar as Associate Justice of Research and Writing. I am also a member of The Order of the Barristers, a national honors society for excellence in oral advocacy and brief writing skills. In 2022, I competed in the Kate Bockman Memorial Competition for UofSC Moot Court where I ranked among the top 8 oral advocates and received the “Best Appellate Brief” award. In 2023, I competed in the JWL Moot Court Competition; as a finalist, I was afforded the invaluable opportunity of presenting my oral argument at the South Carolina Supreme Court. Before I began my law school career, I worked as an Account Executive at The Rosen Group, a PR and strategic communications agency in New York City before switching fields, joining the non-profit organization \"Teach for America.” For TFA, I worked for two years as an English teacher at Colleton County High School in Walterboro, SC. I graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2017. I received a B.A. in journalism and media specializing in public relations, as well as a second degree in political science.
