Detective First Grade Courtney Thorpe, a first-generation law enforcement officer, has dedicated his career to serving the NYPD and working endlessly to identify and arrest suspects for sex trafficking and other related crimes. Since joining the New York City Police Department in 2005, he has risen through the ranks, excelling in roles such as Housing IRT, Housing Patrol, Brooklyn North Narcotics, Brooklyn North VICE, Special Victims Human Trafficking Squad and now the NYPD/FBI Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Forces. His exceptional leadership and investigative skills have contributed to the successful resolution of numerous high-profile cases. A 2023 recipient of the Finest Foundation Award for his excellence in case work. Detective Thorpe was promoted to NYPD’s highest Detective designation of First Grade on August 30th 2024.
