ABOUT COURTNEY LEIMKUHLER

I have spent over 20 years in the financial services industry on both the capital formation and risk management sides of the business. After starting my career at Goldman Sachs, I joined the New York Stock Exchange at a critical moment in the history of equity capital markets. There I had the privilege of helping architect and execute its transition from a non-profit mutual into one of the leading publicly traded exchange groups globally. After we sold the company in 2013, I had the opportunity to lead the finance and strategy functions for Marsh - the world’s leading insurance broker - at the dawn of the ‘insuretech’ trend. Over the years, I hope I’ve developed a reputation for strong leadership, authenticity, strategic thought and making complex ideas more simple. I have been fortunate to build teams from scratch and to lead teams of thousands across dozens of countries and I know that who we work with and how we do the work matters more than anything else. I love fintech, particularly on the “infrastructure” layer and have really enjoyed working with great companies like New Front, Coverwallet, Betterment, Orchard, and others. In 2018 I began to focus on how to make a bigger impact on one of the most important challenges of our generation: gender equity. We study, write, and wring our hands about it, but we don\'t DO enough about it. At Springbank, our mission is to change that. We invest in early-stage companies building the infrastructure for a more equal future. That infrastructure takes three critical forms: career, care and consumer. We are committed to being more than venture capitalists though. We are engaged in field building that will:(1) direct and draw resources to support all founders building in our thesis - not just our portfolio;(2) attract and educate other investors to join us in this \"next turn of the crank\" on gender lens investing;(3) leverage and catalyze change in corporate and public-sector policies that support women, caregivers, and working families.
