ABOUT COURTNEY HESS

Currently Associate General Counsel and Managing Director, Regulatory Relations at Corebridge Financial, where I lead a team focused on state insurance market conduct examination work and insurance transactional work. I\'ve previously led and built processes around our regulatory monitoring, advocacy, and change management programs. In a highly regulated industry, I engage across stakeholder groups for response to regulatory activity and inquiry, as well as monitoring of emerging trends. I am passionate about promoting financial security and access to financial products and services, and supporting the operational processes, products, and distribution methods that allow it. Prior to my current role at Corebridge Financial, I also served in legal, advocacy, and operations capacities for the Tennessee Treasury Department, supporting qualified retirement programs for public employees and other programs serving all Tennesseans, including unclaimed property and college savings. I have experience with state insurance requirements nationwide, insurance holding company act requirements, governmental retirement plan requirements, and anticipation of and tracking of a broad spectrum of emerging trends impacting financial services companies. I’ve consistently served in collaborative roles, whether with internal legal, compliance, regulatory, finance, and business areas, or externally with trade organizations and other stakeholders.
