WORK HISTORY
Senior Designer Director of Total Knits @White House Black Market
Fort Myers, FL, US
Giving Design Direction, Team building, Inspiring, mentoring, designing and keeping a positive and up beat “our team can do anything” attitude no matter what surprises may be thrown our way. Leading a team of 2 designers, 2 associate designers and 1 assistant designer through open lines of communication to make sure all needs are met. Monitoring and ensuring we adhere to the ever changing T&A calendar to ensure a smooth transition between seasons to meet all in store and DTC deliveries. Working on multiple deliveries at a time for bi-monthly product deliveries. Developing original trims and embroideries by sending vendors AI mock-ups for said trim/embroidery. Working closely with CAD to develop “customer right” prints that encompasses emerging trends as well as updating tried and true best selling designs. Working with TD to ensure TP’s arrive to vendors on time. Lead all weekly fittings to ensure a perfect fit. The team and myself attended weekly meetings with merchants to communicate teams progress. Making sure SKU count is met for each delivery and that we always come in below cost for possible markdowns. Examining Best and Worst sellers with merchants for direction in what to anniversary(update)as well as receiving sales reports for each garment. Designing along with my team designs for bi-monthly deliveries in preparation for sketch selection. Presenting all designs during sketch selection to VP of design along with merchants to select which designs to go forward with to proto stage. Then presenting chosen designs to Directors of each division for total store cohesiveness. Finally, showing protos to President of WHBM along with all Directors.Extensive Travel to factories in Asia and shopping various U.S & international markets.
