About Courtney Johnston
I’m a senior product and platform leader who has spent most of my career working on card core and payments platforms in regulated financial services environments.I’ve worked across large banks and early-stage fintech, and what’s been consistent throughout my career is a focus on building platforms that actually hold up in production. That includes card processing, virtual cards, network integrations, cloud and service-oriented systems, and the slow, necessary work of modernizing legacy platforms without disrupting what already works in production.I work very closely with engineering, architecture, data, risk, and operations teams. I care about making trade-offs explicit, sequencing work realistically, and being accountable for outcomes, not just roadmaps.Earlier in my career, I worked in advanced technology and government research environments, which gave me early exposure to AI and data-driven systems. That experience shaped a practical view of AI as something that needs to be explainable, operational, and useful, not experimental for its own sake.At this stage, I’m most interested in roles where platform judgment, technical fluency, and long-term ownership really matter, and where see-through decisions are valued.
