After graduating from Stratford High School in West Houston, I moved to Austin to attend The University of Texas. Upon graduating in 2003, I chose to stay in Austin and began my career with Hammonds Homes as an Assistant Superintendent. There, I had the opportunity to learn from four different superintendents and gain exposure to a variety of construction systems in a short period of time. Working for a production builder taught me the importance of scheduling, organization, and strong management systems.I later joined Olympia Homes, where I developed a deep appreciation for custom craftsmanship and detail-oriented construction. From 2006–2008, I worked with Stuart Homes, where I was challenged to take on a half-completed home along with several major remodels—an experience that strengthened my problem-solving skills and ability to deliver under pressure.In 2008, I co-founded GreenTex Builders with Cameron Ponsford. After more than a decade of building high-quality homes in Austin, we went our separate ways in 2020, and McCallum Custom Homes was born—carrying forward the same commitment to durable, long-lasting, thoughtfully built homes for Austinites.Building custom homes and managing remodeling projects requires patience, creativity, and close collaboration with clients. I’m passionate about energy efficiency and green building practices, and I’m continually expanding my knowledge to implement efficient, comfortable, and cost-effective construction solutions.
