About Cory Leiferman

I currently work at Virgin Galactic, the worlds first commercial space line, as the Sr. Manager of Customer Operations for Spaceport America. I oversee all aspects of our space tourism operations with regards to the hosting and training of our future astronauts. Additionally, I am the key stakeholder for all operations expansion projects as we look to scale our commercial efforts here in New Mexico and beyond.Previously, I was the Sr. Project Manager for Spaceport Development managing the site expansion and Master planning efforts coordinating with executives, stakeholders, and third party contractors to gather requirements and establish baseline planning for future construction needs.As the Infrastructure Programs and Facilities Manager, I oversaw the build and fit out of the Virgin Galactic facilities in New Mexico, mainly the Gateway To Space as Spaceport America, including our employee and customer lounge GAIA, our daily operations and mission control center, and Astra; our Future Astronaut Training Facilities, and lead the facilities department and maintain, repairs, and improves all our great spaces. I was hired with Virgin Galactic to set up the Business Intelligence program starting as an Analyst and growing to Lead and eventually Manager leading a team of analysts in the strategic development and implementation of real-time, dynamic visualizations of company data from multiple data sources to provide critical performance metrics across three unique business groups.Outside of work, I volunteer as the Board President of Big Brothers Big Sisters Mountain Region since 2016, voted best Non-Profit by the Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce in 2022. Additionally, I was the Distinguished Honors Graduate for the 2021 Leadership Las Cruces Class.I graduated from Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA in 2011, earning my MBA with Honors. I completed my Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in management and a psychology minor from WWU in 2009. My previous work experience includes retail management, e-tail management and marketing, and financial planning and analysis.Specialties include: Strong Project Management and Organization skills, a customer driven approach, and an eye for balancing form and function. Very strong command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access), proficient with SQL and VBA, and financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting principals.
