About Cory Cranford

Graduated CU Boulder with a BA in Computer Science, MS in Technology, Cybersecurity, and Policy (2020), and Italian language minor. I am currently working at Velentium as a cybersecurity engineer helping secure medical devices through ethical hacking, with an emphasis in mobile application security. In addition, I\'ve been in a paid Teaching Assistant position the past couple years for a military innovation and entrepreneurship graduate class at CU Boulder, a part of the national Hacking for Defense effort led by the Department of Defense. I also work with a great startup focused on providing security consultation and research to laboratory environments.My background is in casino gaming (the family business), having worked with a number of start-up to mid-level companies as a software/system engineer. I currently still help out with a casino gaming security company. I also have dabbled in game development myself, and am quite fond of video games (I tend to enjoy playing them as opposed to coding them).I\'ve always loved music and play a few instruments, as well as sports. I used to be a pentathlete, but tend to stick to just the fencing and running these days.I strive to communicate well, take responsibility for my actions, fail fast, and actively practice kindness.
