As an Electrical Engineer at the Susquehanna Nuclear Power Plant, a subsidiary of Talen Energy, in Design Analysis, I take responsibility of the following disciplines listed below as well as being a member of the Emergency Response Organization(ERO) as an Engineering Support Engineer in a call-out position and am training to be the electrical Plant NERC Contact(PNC) for the North American Electric Reliability Corporation(NERC).1) Design and Development- Ensure that all electrical systems meet stringent safety, regulatory, and performance standards.2) System Analysis- Perform detailed analysis and simulations of electrical systems to assess performance, reliability, and safety- Utilize advanced software tools(E-TAP and VOLTCALC) to model electrical circuits and power distribution systems.3) Compliance and Safety- Ensure all designs comply with nuclear regulatory requirements and industry standards- Conduct regular safety assessments and risk analyses to identify and mitigate potential hazards.4) Testing and Validation- Develop and implement testing protocols to validate the performance and safety of electrical systems- Analyze test results and make necessary adjustments to designs.5) Technical Documentation- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, design specifications, and documentation for regulatory submissions- Prepare, Verify, and Review technical calculations based on plant modifications(design changes)- Maintain accurate records of design changes and project progress.6) Continuous Improvement and learning- Continuous training courses on 125VDC and 250VDC Batteries, Circuit Breakers, and 230kV and 500kV step-up Transformers- Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical engineering and nuclear power technology.
