    Primary responsibilities of this position are providing intensive services to meet the employment needs of veterans with a significant barrier to employment such as being economically or educationally disadvantaged, special disabled or disabled, homeless, a recently-separated veteran that has been unemployed for more than 27 weeks, recently released veterans from incarceration, veterans lacking a high school diploma or equivalent, and low income veterans. This position utilizes a case management approach to assist the veterans to overcome their employment barrier(s) to include providing skills training, career counseling services, mentoring individuals to mitigate barriers, job search assistance and placement, career assessment, retention for those in a lay off or furloughed status and career advancement to a variety of underemployed and unemployed veterans and career-changing veterans. Assist case managed veterans and other eligible applicants in preparation for employment seeking activities through preparation of resumes and application forms, access to other material and information, provide current labor market information using internet-based tools such as the Job Center of Wisconsin, Wisc.jobs, and the State of Wisconsin Worknet websites, which provides wage and trend information regarding high growth and high wage industries and occupations; workplace needs; worker skills, qualifications, and interests; career assessment, development, and planning strategies; knowledge of the local, regional, and statewide labor market and business community needs to case managed veterans reentering the workforce. Use the Automated System Support for Employment and Training (ASSET) program to prepare reports for all incoming correspondence to include resume development, information on career counseling services, case management, individual employment plans, assessments comprehensive and specialized, and job referrals.
