ABOUT CORRINE ELLSWORTH-BEAUMONT
I\'m an award-winning designer that specializes in topics that are difficult to communicate and I make them accessible to global audiences through visual metaphor. Passionate about design and social entrepreneurship, I\'m a rare mix of designer-researcher-entrepreneur, and received my PhD in Design Thinking for Healthcare in London, England. I\'m the founder and CEO of the Know Your Lemons Foundation and the designer behind the global #knowyourlemons campaign, in 40+ languages and been seen by 2 billion people online. I enjoy working across various mediums. Received a Webby Award Nomination for the Know Your Lemons app I designed. Spoke at the World Cancer Congress and the United Nations Conference. My work has been featured on the BBC, CNN and most other major news outlets around the world. The Know Your Lemons app I designed was named the Best Health and Fitness App in the world by the Webby Awards.(knowyourlemons.org) My latest work is with the Dandelion Toolkit, a patient navigation tool, which has been nearly a decade in the making. It uses the metaphor of a dandelion to explain cancer concepts such as staging, pathology, and treatment options, to make complex diagnosis information easier to understand so patients can be more engaged in decision-making.(dandeliontoolkit.com) My experience in design consulting includes work with Pfizer, the Metastatic Breast Cancer Alliance in NYC, the National Health Service (UK, Wales, and Gibraltar), and several charities around the world. My international design expertise stems from creating work in over 28 languages, understanding the unique needs of designing for multiple translations, across various platforms and how to universally communicate through visuals to be effective with a broad and diverse audience. As a former academic, I taught in both the design and business schools in the USA, England, France and Switzerland for 14 years. From typography to branding, to business model design, my work focused on combining design thinking with lean startup approaches as I worked with over 700 students and mentored 64 student businesses. I take a human centered approach to problem understanding and problem solving. Specialties include: design thinking, service design, branding, typography, art direction, design research, human centered design, qualitative research, empathy, copyleft IP, healthcare, health design, communication design, app design, ux design
