Immunotherapies provide hope for patients, extending survival and even curing patients. Identifying how immunotherapies specifically recognize a tumor remains a challenge. Tumors present parts of proteins (i.e. peptides) on their surface for the immune system to detect and thus destroy tumors. My project addresses which peptides the tumor presents, and how we can find the peptides that can induce the strongest immune attack. Advances in technology and biology will enable me to find the most useful peptides, providing a path for developing predictive machine learning models that help design novel immunotherapies targeting the most critical peptide targets on cancers.
