Jarik E. Conrad, EdD, SPHR, SHRM-CSP, NACD.DC, is a sought-after speaker on the present and future of work. He has been recognized on multiple occasions as a Human Resources Director (HRD) annual Global 100 top People Practitioners. Engagedly has named him one of the top 100 HR Influencers.Dr. Conrad grew up in public housing in East St. Louis, Illinois, a city described as “America’s most distressed small city.” He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, two master’s degrees from Cornell University, and a Doctor of Education from the University of North Florida. In addition to senior HR certifications, he holds certifications in emotional intelligence, intercultural sensitivity, plant-based nutrition, and weight management, as well as a corporate directorship certification. He draws from an interdisciplinary background that spans business, human resources, education, sociology, engineering, healthcare, marketing, and research across the private, public, and nonprofit sectors to help solve the most enduring challenges faced by people and organizations. He most recently served as the Vice President of Human Insights at UKG, a leading HR software and workforce management company. He also served as the Executive Director of the Workforce Institute, UKG’s global think tank. He is the author of two award-winning best-selling books, The Fragile Mind: How it Produced and Perpetuates America’s Tragic Disparities and In Search of Humanity: Why We Fight, How to Stop, and the Role Business Must Play. A strong advocate for health and wellness, in the documentaries Eating You Alive and Plantwise, and led and published a clinical trial on emotional intelligence education and plant based nutrition, while serving as a research collaborator with the Mayo Clinic.
