Grove Turkeys Ltd based at Smithboro, Co Monaghan is Ireland’s largest turkey processor with market leading positions in major retailers in Ireland and the UK. Manage all aspects of Grove Turkeys agricultural business which involves breeder rearing, breeder laying, hatching & commercial growing of turkeys to achieve optimal performance and conform to the highest standards of welfare and sustainability. Detailed planning of all livestock in conjunction with senior management to ensure fulfilment of customer orders consistently. Management of all growers, farm supervisors & farms personnel to ensure achievement of highest efficiency & compliance to all Company standards. Manage sourcing & usage of all agricultural inputs to include feed, shavings, gas etc. to ensure cost competitiveness and adherence to best practice. Liaison with key service providers such as Feed Millers, Nutrition & Veterinary Services to ensure best flock management. Liaison with all statutory bodies such as DAFM, FSAI, DEFRA and accredited bodies such as Bord Bia, Integra, Origin Green, Organic Trust etc. Implement Origin Green accreditation in Grove which provides proof of Ireland’s commitment to sustainable food & drink production. Lead all agricultural meetings, farm data supply & presentations with key customers to ensure that Grove is at the forefront of agricultural development. Lead a continuous programme of sustainable agricultural improvement through the use of trials of alternative breeds, feed components etc.
