At the Digital Wellness Lab at Boston Children\'s Hospital, we believe that kids’ use of technology and media and their healthy development don’t have to be mutually exclusive. In our increasingly immersive digital environment, it’s of the utmost importance that the power tools of interactive media and technology are designed with the wellness of their most vulnerable users in mind, while the support systems surrounding our youth — their parents, teachers, and doctors — are engaged in scaffolded supports to help young people learn to use technology and media in healthy, respectful, and kind ways.The Digital Wellness Lab can bring rigorous child health and development science to bear on both the design and use of interactive media. We believe that by following the science, we can create an empathetic and respectful world in which our kids can grow up healthy, smart, and kind.In my role as Executive Director, I lead the Lab\'s strategy, operations, fundraising, and management, ensuring that our work is productive and mission-aligned; our team members are supported and feel valued; and our partners are actively engaged in the work. Over the last two years, I have grown the Lab from four employees to fifteen, increased funding by 350%, and led the development of a comprehensive and cohesive brand and outreach strategy aligned with mission objectives.
