About Corinne Rico
I am a passionate sustainability, resilience, and circular economy professional working to implement creative solutions that ensure a better future for all. My particular area of expertise lies at the intersection of sustainability and the built environment and the considerations related to climate change and emissions from operational and embodied carbon. At CBRE, I co-lead our Americas Sustainability Advisory team which works with both investor and occupier clients to help them solve their most pressing real estate sustainability challenges. I also serve as account lead for our largest global investor sustainability advisory client. Previously as the Senior Director of Sustainability at ShopCore Properties, a Blackstone real estate portfolio company, I led the sustainability initiatives for a real estate portfolio of more than 15 million square feet as well as the corporate ESG strategy. I completed my Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Design and Environmental Analysis at Cornell University and earned a Master of Science (M.S.) in Resilient and Sustainable Communities from Green Mountain College in Poultney, Vermont. During my graduate studies, I explored how communities can plan for and adapt to a future of increasing climate change risks, constrained resources, and socioeconomic inequities, and published a thesis titled “Local and Regional Governments Using Waste to Inform Circular Economy Policy.”
