About Corinne Colon
Corinne Colon is the owner and Artistic Director of Dancebox Studio in Tampa, FL. A former adjunct professor of dance at the University of Tampa, Corinne holds an M.A. in Dance Education from NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development, and the New York State Education Department Certification in Dance PK-12. A two-year veteran and former talent troupe member of the NFL Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cheerleaders, Corinne has performed and taught dance workshops in Mexico, England, Japan, and Guam. Corinne is honored to have studied with world-renowned jazz dance educator and creator of Simonson Technique, Lynn Simonson. She is certified in the Simonson Method of Teacher Training and practices its’ organic approach to movement and injury prevention through anatomy and somatic awareness. She has taught at Frank Sinatra School of the Arts, PS 89 Liberty School, Ballet Hispanico, and the 92Y Harkness Dance Center in New York City. She also traveled to Uganda as an NYU teaching artist, where she learned traditional Ugandan dance and helped facilitate a dance workshop for children from community-based organizations at the Kampala Ballet and Modern Dance School. Corinne was also a company member of Kaleidoscope Dancers for Children, NYU Steinhardt’s resident performing company that provides community-based performances and movement workshops for children in NYC. Her choreography has been shown at the Frederick Loewe Theatre and Tony Bennett Concert Hall in NYC.A former University of Miami hurricane, Corinne holds a B.S. in Communication and has over 12 years of marketing and advertiisng experience, with an emphasis on healthcare. She has worked on brands big and small including Baxter, Dey Pharma/Pfizer, GE Healthcare, Abbvie, Wrangler, Melitta Coffee, AT & T, Monin, and Ahold USA.Specialties: brand planning + strategy, project management, digital + integrated media campaigns, creative concepting, results analysis, client + account management, creative problem solving, team leadership
