ABOUT CORINA ANTON

Hi there, I’m Corina! Quick disclaimer: Don’t be tricked by my bachelor’s degree! After setting the first building blocks for my social sciences career and working as a youth worker for two years, I decided to follow my true passion and make a (somewhat surprising) career switch to become a Backend Software Engineer. Everything started in late 2020 when out of curiosity (and an excessive amount of free time due to the Covid-19 pandemic), I enrolled in a Python course on CodeAcademy. Shortly, I became interested in web technologies and soaked up every course that I found online, spending most of my time on Stackoverflow trying to figure out what was wrong with my code. What an exciting time, haha. Fast forward to today, I am working full time as a junior backend engineer and I am glad to say that I gained the necessary skills to architect, build, and maintain reliable APIs & web applications that match customer needs and expectations. My current tech stack includes: Python, Django, Django Rest Framework, SQL, Docker, HTML & CSS. My youth working background also enriched my abilities with valuable impact/transferable soft skills. Dealing with unforeseen incidents while working with children and young people helped me develop an adaptive and resourceful personality. I learned to find creative solutions on the spot tailored to each particular circumstance and take ownership of my decisions — especially when there was room for improvement in my approach. I also consider myself a true believer in human potential, and I am always trying to foster a positive, encouraging, and supportive workspace to grow as a team.
