I invest in and build companies with talented, product-centric development teams. Most recently, I co-founded Wholesail with 6 friends & former colleagues that I’ve worked with over the last decade across four companies. Before founding the company, we spent nearly a year doing market research and customer discovery together to identify an opportunity to modernize payment and communication between buyers and sellers in wholesale trade. Prior to starting Wholesail, I created and led OpenTable’s Marketplace Products Group, which includes its search, recommendation, advertising and loyalty products.Previously, I was the co-founder and CEO of Ness Computing, a startup that built a machine learning based recommendation engine for restaurants, which was acquired by OpenTable (now a part of Booking Holdings). At Ness, I led product development, strategy, recruiting and financing. Prior to starting Ness, I was a founding Associate at Alsop Louie Partners, where I led the firm’s campus associate program at Berkeley, Stanford and MIT and sourced early stage investments including Gowalla (Facebook) and Twitch (Amazon).Specialties: team building, product development, mobile user experience design, marketplaces, payments, search engines, recommendation engines, location based data, messy data problems, machine learning, advertising platforms, a/b testing, restaurant technologies, product strategy, new product launches, competitive strategy, brand building, business development, venture capital financing, mergers and acquisitions, angel investing, single origin coffee.
