It’s obvious that a theater degree would lead to a career in research and analysis, right? I realize the answer is probably no, but, something cool happens when you marry the two. You find the ability to explain data & numbers to people who may not “get it”, but need to understand their impact.My brain likes numbers - and my heart likes communication. I have had a lot of success in my career bringing the two together. I love to find the hidden message in a mountain of data – and then translate its meaning to other groups in an organization in a way they can understand.I’m the guy who does logic puzzles for fun and might like explaining the rules of complex board games to people more than actually playing the game.I started out pursuing a career in L.A. movie-making, but soon found I had more of an interest in figuring out complex datasets. This led to a career running client development groups in media companies from Phoenix to Dallas to D.C. In each instance, I found a gap existed between the people who crunch the numbers and the people who need to make strategic decisions based on the numbers.I have not found a business problem that data insight can not solve.Often, the data analysts within an organization already have the answer, but have trouble communicating it. I love being able to help these hidden stars develop messages and let them shine.
