About Corey Monroe
A native of San Francisco, Corey Monroe is an ardent community activist and a fervent advocate for children, teens, and families. After Graduating from J. Eugene McAteer High School, Corey Matriculated at Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia where he studied Sociology for two years. An Omega Boys Club/Alive & Free Alumni Corey. Corey provides counseling and support to special needs children and teens whose parents are incarcerated. He also acts as a liaison between children and their incarcerated parents, providing job training, motivation, family support, and parenting skills training. A thirty year plus year member of the Omega Boys Club/Alive & Free and an Omega Boys Club Alumni, Corey partnered with Dr. Marshall and Jack Jacqua to decreased violence and saved lives locally and internationally. Corey works with teens that are incarcerated in the Juvenile Justice system and the adult jail in San Francisco, teaching them how to avoid the risk factors that lead to violence and drug abuse. Most recently Corey works with Homeless families living on the backstreets of San Francisco, Ca who have children and teens that live outside in RVs/Campers by taking food and clothes, sleeping blankets and helping find housing for families when housing is available. Corey is also helping families move to made lots for homeless with showers and bathrooms on site provided by the city. Corey has completed the Leadership San Francisco business and leadership training and the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department’s Restorative Justice Training. In his free time, Corey was member of Acts Full Gospel Church in Oakland for 15 years. Corey works tirelessly to support young people and young adults, rehabilitate previously incarcerated teens and adults, and save families.” - Jae Marie, Family
