ABOUT COREY MILLS

Corey Mills is a father, husband, student of life and teacher of life. I have extensive knowledge and experience with the tactical and community engagement side of law enforcement. I enjoy instructing in my various areas of knowledge within law enforcement and networking with other law enforcement professionals who share my same interests. I believe strongly in the service aspect of policing and I strive to improve my community by providing a service of safety and education. I enjoy participating in the conversation and the sharing of ideas about improving safety and security within the community. I am eager to generate dialogue with the community stakeholders in how law enforcement personnel can be more efficient in implementing our service. My experience and training as a Bias Police Practices Instructor has allowed me to bring civilian and law enforcement entities together to talk about stereotypes and misinformation being endorsed by both law enforcement and the community. From a tactical aspect, I have been a tactical operator for the last 14 years with the Washtenaw County Sheriff\'s Office, Ann Arbor Police Department and currently for the Washtenaw Metro SWAT team. I have a vast knowledge and understanding of police special operations tactics, including but not limited to; high risk warrant service, barricaded gunman, hostage situations and active shooters. For the last 11 years I have specialized as a Police Sniper. I\'ve attended three basic Sniper schools (Center Mass Inc, Operational Tactics and FBI) and one advanced Sniper school through Operational Tactics.I am an experienced firearm instructor with experience in developing lesson plans for live fire handgun courses, live fire machine gun courses, live fire rifle (Sniper) courses and active shooter scenarios. I am currently the lead physical training Instructor for the Washtenaw Metro SWAT team.
