ABOUT COREY DUPREE
Traits I most appreciate in others: The most important attributes in a leader/manager are loyalty, trust, and performance. The managers who I value the most are not the ones who never make a mistake because everyone makes mistakes, but the ones who forewarn me about mistakes they’ve made and take responsibility for them. Most important lesson I\'ve learned in business: Whether you manage direct employees or a sub-contracted workforce, training is the best force multiplier. Successful managers are generally those who have the ability, and take the time required, to transfer knowledge. Success will come more quickly for those who can stand in front of a crowd and make the crowd smarter instead of standing in front of a crowd and promoting their own intellect. My advice for other business leaders: Leaders are problem solvers and the most successful ones are those who enlist the help of all stakeholders in the process because productivity tends to increase with a sense of ownership. The challenge is maintaining a fairly democratic process while motivating the dissenting opinions to give 100%. If you can do that, then failure will only indicate a new direction. If you can\'t do that, then you don\'t know if the plan was bad or if it was the execution of the plan that was bad. The thing I love most about work: I have spent my career creating and developing cohesive teams responsible for achieving the objectives set forth by the different organizations that I was a part of. Nothing pleases me more than working with a diverse group of people to achieve success. What I would still like to achieve professionally: I would like to be part of an ethically sound company that takes care of its employees and achieves financial success by focusing on customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Favorite quote “A college degree prepares you for a job it doesn’t entitle you to one.” – Senator Sam Nunn
