Corey Best is a visionary, global, and strategic leader who brings the rare combination of scientific expertise and business savvy. He is forward-thinking and results-driven with deep, cross-functional knowledge of drug development within all phases of trials. As an operational strategist Corey is respected for his ability to empower and inspire cross-functional teams of various professional disciplines, multiple organizations and diverse global cultures to work as a cohesive team. He is currently the Senior Director of North American Study Operations at Sobi. Previously, Corey founded YCORE of North Carolina, Inc, a biotech and pharmaceutical consulting firm. He has worked in large biotech, mid-size pharma, and CRO companies while also leading initiatives in a start-up biotech to further drug development programs. Corey is known as a “solutions architect”. Corey has guided global clinical trials in the development of new pharmaceutical products, including directing all phases of high-impact clinical trials. He has developed cultural literacy by working in Africa, Asia, Europe, and South America. Corey’s ability to consistently deliver on large scale multi-national drug development programs and strategic partnership development expertise have been hallmarks of his success. This has been essential in him facilitating the business in life cycle management of pharmaceuticals. Corey is a proponent of board service and the call for governance. This led him to participate in the inaugural cohort of the Independent Director Initiative. He serves as Director, Chair of Governance Committee, and Board Secretary on the board of the NCCU Foundation, Inc. In addition he is as member of Fuqua’s Alumni Healthcare Advisory Board. He currently serves on the Dean’s Pharmacy Advisory Council for the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences at Campbell University. Corey is a risk seeking angel and venture investor that looks to maximize opportunities. In addition, he is well versed in blockchain and distributed ledger technology while being an avid digital asset investor. As part of his effort to maintain a growth mindset Corey became a Black Venture Institute Fellow.
