ABOUT CORDELL LAWRENCE
As CEO and co-founder of Eastern Light Distilling, I take pride in supporting both craft makers and non-distilling producers like never before. My passion for whiskey and for the Commonwealth of Kentucky has pushed me to reimagine what’s possible in Bourbon. At Eastern Light, we’re not just building a distillery – we’re building a platform for independent brands to grow with intention, transparency, purity, and care. My expertise in brand building, strategic planning, route-to-market, and distribution management makes me the ideal counterpart to my business partner Caleb Kilburn’s production leadership and distillation expertise. Throughout my storied career, I’ve led brand strategy and marketing efforts for some of the world’s most iconic whiskey labels, including Maker’s Mark, Knob Creek, and Jack Daniel’s. This experience has provided me with the opportunity to grow iconic brands, resurrect dormant brands and bring new to market brands to life. Most recently, I served as Chief Operating Officer at Kentucky Peerless Distilling Company in Louisville. Today, I serve as Kentucky Bourbon Festival Board Chairman.
