ABOUT CORALIE DSOUZA
Award-winning public affairs and communications executive with over 15 years of experience advancing social change through bold storytelling, institutional leadership, and inclusive engagement. I bring a unique track record of building cross-sector partnerships, mobilizing major philanthropic investment, and transforming complex policy ideas into compelling public narratives. Currently, I serve as Vice-President, Programs at the Canadian Children’s Literacy Foundation, where I lead national initiatives that empower children and communities through equitable access to early literacy. Since 2021, my work has built public awareness and enabled over children to access literacy programs across 12 provinces and territories—including in partnership with Indigenous governments and healthcare providers. I also bring a donor-centered, relationship-driven approach to philanthropy with a track record of securing major gift and stewarding flagship funding partnerships. Previously, I led the Brookfield Institute for Innovation + Entrepreneurship\'s (now called The Dias at Toronto Metropolitan University) brand, communications, and public engagement strategies—building an award-winning platform for innovation policy and spearheading inclusive approaches to knowledge mobilization. My earlier work in the Ontario government included designing and executing Ontario’s It’s Never Okay public awareness campaign on sexual violence prevention—recognized with a Gold Canadian Marketing Award and viewed more than 80 million times worldwide. I have advised four Cabinet Ministers, supported vice-regal programming with the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, and provided crisis communications leadership during the Syrian refugee resettlement effort. I thrive in high-trust, mission-driven roles requiring political acuity, strategic clarity, and public confidence. A lifelong advocate for equity, literacy, and the arts, I have volunteered extensively with the Toronto Public Library Foundation—including as Co-Chair of the New Collection and supporter of Hush Hush—and currently serve on the Boards of the Greater Toronto Scouts Foundation and the Toronto Comic Arts Festival. Whether leading national campaigns or advising on high-stakes policy, I bring a values-driven, collaborative, and creative approach to everything I do. I thrive in roles that require strategic clarity, public trust, and an unwavering commitment to community impact.
