I am passionate about improving the food systems and the health of our community. Nutrition is the basis of health and the foundation for survival. There are many applications of nutrition in human life. I like to think about each aspect of nutrition, starting from the seed, to the food on our plates. Food is essential to every part of life. It encompasses our cultures, traditions, and values. I strive to change the food system to be more equitable, sustainable, and safe for people and the environment. My educational background is in human nutrition and food systems from the University of Kentucky and Kentucky State University. Agriculture, Food, and Environment encompasses the areas I am most passionate about and interested in. I have a professional background In various fields: research, education, agriculture, lab management, marketing, and human health. I have experience with research in a diverse set of nutrition fields: aquaculture and mouse nutrition, nutrition education, cancer cell research, substance abuse, and urban agriculture. My professional experience has enabled me to acquire a wide array of skills. These combined traits have developed me into an adaptable leader who can take on multiple roles. I have taken on distinct roles as a team leader, mentor, writer, farmer, researcher, and professor. I believe unique background makes me a well-rounded candidate for management positions. I strive to put forth my best effort in any position. I hope to enhance the health our current and future world by providing nutritional solutions to systemic issues.
