   Practice focuses on commercial litigation, copyright, and appellate.• Successfully prosecuted a four-year complex commercial dispute on behalf of a family company against a multi-national mining corporation, successfully defended three small businesses against a lawsuit by a national tax preparation syndicate, and successfully defended an IT services company against competing claims of ownership over web and mobile-based applications.• Briefed and argued Second Circuit case on copyright fair use and implied license issues, submitted amicus brief to the Supreme Court in landmark 2023 copyright fair use case of Warhol v. Goldsmith, submitted amicus brief to the Ninth Circuit in copyright fair use case involving a dispute between a photographer and a tattoo artist, and briefed constitutional and statutory issues to the Arizona Court of Appeals and the Arizona Supreme Court. • Took or defended nearly 50 depositions of both fact and expert witnesses, first-chaired a one-day trial, and engaged in extensive motion practice including the briefing and argument of motions for summary judgment, Daubert motions, and numerous motions to dismiss.• Maintain an active pro bono and public service practice, including pro bono amicus brief-writing, the successful defense at trial of a nonprofit animal rescue operation, and the drafting of transition memos for incoming Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs.• Demonstrated success in business development, including the solicitation of one appellate matter and two commercial litigation matters.
