ABOUT COOPER PETRIE
I am an Environmental Engineering Masters student at The University of Vermont. My research project for my masters is using nanoparticles and alternating magnetic fields to disinfect drinking water from the International Space Station. Currently I am the lead designer of UVM\'s Engineers Without Borders chapter(EWB) Rwanda project. We hope to have a water disinfection system designed within the next year and a half. My goals for when I am done with school are to use my engineering skills to help people around the word. More specifically I want to help to give everyone access to clean drinking water. Other interests include bicycles, learning new things, steel truss bridges, space, and animals.Recent relevant coursework at UVM: Environmental Quantitative Analysis, Physical and Chemical Properties of Water and Wastewater, Geoenvironmental Engineering, Advanced Hydrology, Signals and Systems, Electric Energy Systems, and Control Systems
