   I’ve been a process operator for 19 years. I’ve worked special assignment roles such as Complex / Group Lockout Tagout Coordinator, Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) Coordinator, Blind Tag Coordinator and Permit Coordinator on Turnarounds throughout the refinery. I spearheaded a multi day permit filing system that’s been used for turnarounds. I’ve taught Multi Day Permitting and Group/Complex Lockout Tagout Classes prior to turnaround events which ensured the operators understood how multi day permitting works on turnarounds events, how to properly file permits so you could quickly see what permitted work you have that’s active in the field, find file copies to update permits, no longer need permit requests for ongoing work in the field (the filing systems shows you what permits need to be written for ongoing work days prior to the permit expiring and needing a new permit.)This helps alleviate permit traffic drastically. As a Lockout/Tagout Coordinator, I created all electrical locks for breakers and worked hand and hand with E&I to de-energize all electrical equipment, work with the operator who’ll identify all battery limit blinds and conduct a walkthrough so all principals can identify each breaker and blinding point. Once the walk is finished I do all the paperwork and get all principals locked out on either electrical group or complex lockout and explain everything throughly. As a PSSR Coordinator I manage all documentation from the PSSR Team Members,maintain proper communication from start of the outage to finish. Each team member knew the expectations of their roles and the importance of having the proper documentation for the PSSR Book.I collected each team member’s signature for the PSSR Book. Lastly I had to accompany my Business Team Lead (BTL) to a meeting with the Assistant Plant Manager to go over the PSSR Book that I had to create, get his signature last and he give the ok for operations to introduce heat into the unit as we’re preparing for startup.
