About Constance M. Chen

Dr. Constance M. Chen is a board-certified plastic surgeon in New York City who specializes in aesthetic restoration of the breast and body. Dr. Chen received her BA from Harvard College, MD from Stanford University School of Medicine, and MPH from Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. After surgical residencies at the University of Washington Medical Center and New York-Presbyterian Hospital Cornell-Columbia, she completed a research fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and a microsurgery fellowship at New York University Langone Medical Center Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery. She is Director of Park Avenue Medical Suite, a office-based surgical suite on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. She is also Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery (Plastic Surgery) at Weill Cornell Medical College and Tulane University School of Medicine and Director of Microsurgery at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mt Sinai. Dr. Chen is a pioneer in perforator flap breast reconstruction, and is often invited to lecture nationally and internationally on DIEP, PAP, and TDAP flaps as well on the surgical treatment of lymphedema. She was previously principal investigator of a clinical trial investigating autologous lymph node transfer to treat breast cancer patients who had developed chronic upper extremity lymphedema after mastectomy. Dr. Chen is co-editor of a surgical textbook, Perforator Flaps for Breast Reconstruction, to be published by Thieme in 2016, and is co-editor of a textbook, Cosmetic Surgery, published by McGraw-Hill in 2013. She is also author of a book on women\'s health, five book chapters, and fifty journal articles. She has won many awards in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the local, regional, and national levels, particularly for her work on perforator flap breast reconstruction and limited-scar breast reduction. Dr. Chen is committed to the highest standards of aesthetic breast and body restoration.
