ABOUT CONSTANCE LEBLANC
I have worked in clinical Emergency Medicine in Halifax since 1989. My other significant interests include Medical Education, Healthcare Leadership, and Equity, Diversity, Inclusivity and Belonging. I served as program director for training in emergency medicine after family medicine certification for 8 years and remain involved in this program. I have significant experience in toxicology and pre-hospital care and provided on-call consulting for these for over 20 years. I served as CME chair for the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians(CAEP) for 8 years and developed for education roadshows during my tenure: EDTU, EDSTAT (for which I was a speaker), MSK, and Risky Business. I am currently a speaker in another CAEP roadshow series-\"The EM review course\".I served as Associate Dean for Continuing Professional Development and Medical Education Research(CPDME) at Dalhousie University completing two terms 20••••20. In this role, I migrated the office towards quality as a cornerstone of CPD and our enterprise is one of only three Canadian and a few over fifty sites in the US for Aligning Education for Quality (Ae4Q) under the guidance of the American Association of Medical Colleges. This work will link CPD to clinical sites across the Academic Health Network. My areas of enhanced expertise include: Emergency Medicine (MD, CCFP[EM]), Healthcare Leadership (CCPE, and EMBA), Medical Education (MAEd), and Equity, Diversity, Inclusivity and Belonging (CCDI candidate), and public speaking.I embarked on a new path as President and CEO for the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada (AFMC) July 1st, 2023. I am very excited to contribute to work as the Voice of Academic Medicine for Canada!
