ABOUT CONRAD EKISA

I am an IT enthusiast and technology professional with expertise spanning cybersecurity, programming, enterprise infrastructure, and sustainable innovation. I recently completed a PhD in Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Cybersecurity at South East Technological University, Ireland, where my research advanced the design of virtual ICS testbeds (VICSORT) to simulate cyber-attacks and defences in critical infrastructure. This work contributes to bridging the IT–OT security gap, enabling reproducible research, and lowering barriers to hands-on training in ICS cybersecurity. Beyond academia, I have practical experience in large-scale enterprise infrastructure deployments, specialising in Cisco UCS, Dell PowerFlex, and converged systems, complemented by strong skills in Python programming and Linux system administration. I currently apply this expertise as a Technical Support Engineer at Dell Technologies and as an Associate Lecturer in networking and programming. Building on this foundation in OT security, I am expanding into IT cybersecurity to strengthen my ability to protect hybrid IT/OT environments, with interests in threat detection, vulnerability management, and risk governance. This dual focus positions me to address the evolving challenges at the intersection of IT and OT security. Passionate about technology for social impact, I am also engaged in renewable energy initiatives aimed at driving socio-economic development in rural and under-served communities, as well as supporting the growing e-mobility movement in Uganda. I am committed to using technology not only to secure critical systems but also to foster sustainable development and innovation.#Learn something new everyday, 365 days.
