Hello!My name is Conor Gowder and I am a Policy Analyst at SSTI. I attended UC Irvine for both my undergraduate and graduate education, earning my B.A. in Urban Studies in 2021 and M.P.P. in 2023. My primary interests lay in the fields of science and technology policy, as well as environmental policy and sustainability, but I like to think of myself as a policy generalist.    Create and publish articles (100+) and data tools, many of which are supported by SSTI\'s U.S. Economic Development Administration-awarded Tech-Based Economic Development Community of Practice (TBED CoP).• Responsible for the development of “Useful Stats” articles for SSTI’s Weekly Digest, which are typically words and utilize one or more sources of recently-updated and relevant data, accompanied with custom interactive visualizations and detailed analysis of the data. • Support technical assistance projects for SSTI’s member organizations, including compiling existing data, creating novel datasets and writing memos, reports and other materials.• Research, write, and produce data visualizations for issue briefs, toolkits, presentations, articles and reports on policies and programs primarily focused on encouraging regional economic development.• Assist with program administration and event logistics, including scheduling webinars, facilitating session preparation meetings, and outreach to potential facilitators, speakers and panelists.• Contribute to the planning and coordination of logistics for SSTI’s annual conference of over 200 professionals and practitioners.
