About Conor Godfrey
Conor has spent more than ten years developing strategies to respond to threats and advance U.S. interests in frontier markets and fragile states. He is a proven public policy professional with deep experience leading cross-functional teams to achieve common objectives. He excels at balancing regional, functional, and technical expertise when making decisions in uncertainty. Before working with the Department of State, Conor worked with U.S. companies to promote reciprocal trade and investment between the United States and Africa, and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Guinea. Working in embassies abroad and with the Department of State in Washington Conor has authored 30+ analytical cables and frequently briefed combatant commanders, the intelligence community, Department of State principals, and international partners. He has also spoken on conflict issues in his public or private capacity at the United States Institute of Peace, Africa Center for Strategic Studies, U.S. Foreign Service Institute, and several private sector events. In addition, Conor has frequently trained U.S. and foreign diplomats and other officers in conflict analysis and intervention.Conor speaks French fluently, as well as conversational Pulaar (Fouta-Jallon dialect).
