About Connor Bizon

After graduating with a BS in Chemistry, Conc. Biochemistry, from Georgia Southern University in 2016, I immediately jumped head first into the world of product formulation! I began working as the lead chemist for an art company that was primarily focused on wax-based clays, water-based and gloss paints, and polymer clay. Soon after, I also started leading their explosive simulants division, where I formulated and oversaw production of non-hazardous material designed to emulate explosives. These products were used to safely calibrate X-ray machines, train bomb-detecting dogs, and in other applications.Eventually, I made the move over to Ingevity. Where I began work as a chemist on their agricultural and lignin teams. Once there, I became heavily involved with the company, and worked hard to learn agricultural formulating and testing. A large portion of my work was centered around SC\'s, EC\'s, WDG\'s, adjuvants, and occasionally some biological formulations. I strove to help my teammates whenever possible, and, in addition to my normal duties, became the purchaser for multiple groups within Ingevity\'s industrial specialties division. I eventually served as the chair of the safety committee for Ingevity\'s industrial specialties division.In 2021 I accepted the senior chemist position with Thermacell. I was given the opportunity to establish their QC program, build their primary research laboratory, and get them up and running to generate data approved by regulatory bodies. I built their GLP program from the ground up, and began establishing testing procedures, hiring a technician, leading the development of new product formulations, and guiding their new production facility. I actively manage their laboratory and its safety program to ensure that it aligns with all regulatory requirements.
