About Connor Bird
I am a senior at Rice University studying Civil Engineering with a focus in Structural Engineering. I am very personable and enjoy meeting people of any background. I am extremely driven and passionate and don\'t give something up until I accomplish it. I have worked in customer service at a golf course for four summers (20••••22) and at a coffee shop for over two years (January, 2023-Present) which have allowed me to strengthen my affability and develop my professional skills. I worked as a Field Engineering Intern at the Texas Department of Transportation in Austin, TX in the summer of 2023 and as a Civil/Structural Design Engineering Intern at KPFF Consulting Engineers in Spokane, Washington in the summer of 2024. I am skilled at math and science, and familiar with the coding languages R and Matlab. I have a passion for sustainability and the environment, and look to use Civil Engineering to build and design the sustainable cities of the future.
