About Connor Waltman
As a Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering student at the University of Delaware (3.88 GPA), I\'m driven by a passion for solving complex engineering challenges through innovative design and systematic problem-solving. My experience spans from developing scalable software solutions for energy analytics platforms to creating autonomous robotics systems, where I\'ve consistently applied engineering principles to deliver robust, high-performance solutions. My hands-on project experience demonstrates my ability to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical application. Whether designing aerodynamically efficient propeller launchers, engineering autonomous robot cars with complex Python algorithms, or architecting data processing systems for real-time energy grid monitoring, I thrive on projects that demand both technical precision and creative innovation. My proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, OnShape, Fusion) and programming languages (Python, Java) enables me to approach challenges from multiple angles.I\'m particularly passionate about the intersection of mechanical systems and emerging technologies, seeking research and development opportunities where I can contribute to aerospace innovation, sustainable energy solutions, and advanced manufacturing processes. My goal is to leverage my engineering foundation and analytical mindset to drive meaningful technological advancement through rigorous prototyping and systematic evaluation of engineering solutions. I am excited to connect with professionals in the engineering field to discuss opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and applying engineering solutions to real-world challenges.

Formula Sae Team Member
Feb 2026 — Present · Newark, DE, US
The Formula Society of Automotive Engineers (FSAE) designs and builds a formula-style race car to compete at the annual Formula SAE National Competition. The organization is interdisciplinary, welcoming all majors and skill levels to engage in the full lifecycle of vehicle development—from initial CAD design and precision machining to final assembly and track testing.Currently, I contribute to the Aerodynamics (Aero) Team, where the team responsibilities include-Aerodynamic Design: Developing high-performance geometry for the front wing, side pods, and rear wing to optimize downforce and airflow-Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD): Performing rigorous CFD analysis using ANSYS Fluent to validate design iterations and ensure aerodynamic efficiency-Composite Manufacturing: Fabricating structural components using advanced materials, including fiberglass and carbon fiber weaves, through precise layup processes-Operations & Logistics: Managing testing schedules, safety protocols, and technical documentation while collaborating with cross-functional sub-teams to ensure vehicle readiness.
