Serve as the sole Physician Assistant in a high-volume surgical group consisting of 5 general/trauma surgeons providing comprehensive support and ensuring seamless patient care. Act as the primary surgical first assist in the operating room with responsibilities of pre-operative preparation, tissue dissection/manipulation/retraction, wound closures. Proficient in laparoscopy and robotic DaVinci XI/DV5. Typical surgeries include : cholecystectomy, appendectomy, inguinal hernia repair, ventral hernia repair, umbilical hernia repair, paraoesophageal hernia repair, colon resections including right hemi-colectomy/sigmoid colectomy/low anterior resection, small bowel resections, gastric bypass, gastric stimulator placement, partial gastrectomy, G-tube placement, PD catheter placement, median arcuate ligament release, splenectomy, hemorrhoidectomy, pilonidal cystectomy, emergent exploratory laparotomyConduct inpatient rounding for a patient census of around 20-30 patients daily. Help manage and organize care plans, manage pre/post-operative care, patient education, admissions/discharges.
