About Connor Newberry
My name is Connor Newberry, and I am an MS student at SMU studying Finance. I went to the University of Oklahoma for my undergraduate degree, where I double majored in Finance and Sports Business, primarily to break into the sports industry. I dreamed of working in an NFL front office, and made great steps towards that goal during my time at OU. I was fortunate to be one of very few student recruiting analysts for the football team, and I gained incredibly valuable knowledge and experience while forming phenomenal relationships during my time there. However, I learned more about myself during my time in the program and at OU as a whole, and decided that I no longer desired to work in that industry. Because of this, I am attending SMU\'s MSF program to better my technical skills while allowing time to learn more about the financial industry. I am at my best when participating in and leading projects that help others, and believe that this will translate well into the financial sector, specifically in assisting clients to maximize their financial goals.
