As an Industrial engineer and part-time National Guardsman, I have over 7 years of military leadership and 4 years of experience within the advanced logistics industry. I am a Company Commander in the Indiana National Guard overseeing training, development, Uniform Code of Military Justice as well as property accountability for 92 personnel and the armory facility. I have held this position actively since October 2023 as a traditional Guardsman (1 Weekend a month, 2 weeks a year).Prior to October 2023, I was the senior logistician for a deployment to Egypt in support of the Multinational Force and Observers. Duties included overseeing the logistical movements of 204 personnel to the training area in Texas, following onto the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt. It also included sourcing and funding of all shipments, charter aircraft and day-to-day operational supplies. As the Movement Officer and Logistician in charge I oversaw the customs process for all soldiers and equipment entering or leaving the country. The role required team-work across language barriers with 14 other nations within the force. During our time there, my team ensured process improvement and improved cross nation discussion resulting in better logistical processes prior to our departure.Prior to my Active Duty assignment to the National Guard, I worked in advanced logistics. Starting as a project engineer, I worked in AutoCAD and Office Suite to design, price and implement logistical systems. These systems included goods to person systems, conveyor, and robotics. I worked in diverse teams to develop and present the best quality systems to the customer and provide rapid solutions to site management for expedient install. During COVID, I transitioned to site management and oversaw the installation of advanced logistic systems. This role required a wide breadth of knowledge bridging the gap between controls, mechanical install, electrical install, project management and the customer. I acted as the kingpin between onsite contacts to maintain project timeline and budget.
