I am an Operations Team Leader within Wastewater Treatment at Scottish Water, leading teams responsible for delivering safe, compliant and resilient wastewater services across East Renfrewshire, East Ayrshire and the Cowal Peninsula. I also actively support initiatives linked to health, safety, wellbeing and digital improvement, recognising their importance in modern wastewater operations and workforce sustainability.I am passionate about developing the next generation of wastewater professionals and take real pride in seeing operators progress. I lead wastewater treatment operations in the Renfrewshire, East Ayrshire and Cowal regions for Scottish Water, bringing hands‑on experience from network to treatment since 2016. I’m currently responsible for team performance, Health & Safety, and compliance, drawing on deep knowledge of the Clyde Valley wastewater network and associated treatment works.My leadership approach is simple: develop people, make data usable, and set a clear standard every day. I coach in person on digital tools and standard work so our team can stay ahead of SEPA requirements, turn insights into action, and deliver consistently for our customers and the environment.I’m known for leading from the front (clear priorities, fair accountability, and practical support), building audit‑ready compliance, and using telemetry/SCADA, dashboards, and root‑cause methods to optimise processes, improve energy efficiency, and back Scottish Water’s Net Zero ambitions. Whether it’s asset performance, incident response, or contractor management, I focus on turning complex operational challenges into safe, reliable, and measurable outcomes—while keeping team culture positive, resilient, and proud of the service we provide.My strengths span a wide range of operational and leadership capabilities, including wastewater treatment operations, effective team coaching, and strong, accountable frontline leadership. I’m experienced in maintaining SEPA‑aligned regulatory compliance and embedding a robust health, safety and environmental culture across daily work. I take a data‑driven approach, using telemetry, SCADA insights, KPIs and dashboarding to guide decision‑making, improve asset performance, and drive process optimisation and energy efficiency. Progressive Artificial Intelligence (Ai) and automation is a key development route in the industry that I aim to utilise regarding to remain efficient but effective. Root‑cause analysis, risk management, stakeholder collaboration, contractor coordination, and continuous improvement all play a key role in how I operate, helping me guide my team through change, strengthen digital adoption, and ensure safe, reliable, and efficient site performance.
