Audit, assist, and guide 18 hospitals involved in the Hospital Preparedness Program in the Trauma Service Area J (map attached).In the Southwest Region, the “Border”RAC is based out of El Paso, Trauma Service Area (TSA) I Texas counties of El Paso and New Mexico. In addition, the HPP Program for TSA J region is managed by BorderRAC and encompasses the urban, rural, and frontier areas in the counties of Andrews, Martin, Howard, Loving, Winkler, Ector, Midland, Glasscock, Reeves, Ward, Crane, Upton, Jeff Davis, Pecos, Terrell, Presidio and Brewster. The TSA J represents approx. 116,700 square miles with an estimated population near half a million.“Our mission is to provide the leadership necessary to sustain high quality, professional services required of an inclusive trauma and emergency healthcare system.” Our goal is to fully implement the statewide trauma system in order to reduce the number of trauma incidents, preventable deaths, reduce the severity of trauma-related disability, and to make sure that all Texas trauma victims receive the best care possible. We help hospitals make sure they are prepared to respond to a bio-terrorism attack, or a wide-scale of natural disasters.
