About Connie Peretz

Dr. Peretz has a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the New School for Social Research. She has a certificate from the Intensive Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program from the William Alanson White Institute and has completed a two year course in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the Columbia University Psychoanalytic Center. She has training in the treatment of eating disorders and addictions from the William Alanson Institute and Advanced Training in Couples and Family Therapy from the NYU Postdoctoral program. She completed a DBT Training Intensive and was a member of a DBT Consultation group at Creedmoor Psychiatric Center. Dr. Peretz maintains a private psychotherapy practice in Bellerose Manor, Queens. She retired from Creedmoor Psychiatric Center in October, 2012 after 26 years as clinician, supervisor and administrator. She had been Director of the Queens Village Outpatient Clinic at Creedmoor for 10 years before retirement. She continues to be a member of the Medical Education Department at Creedmoor, which is affiliated with the Columbia University Medical Center. She co-leads a course on Personality Disorders for the Psychiatric Residents at Creedmoor and is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Columbia University Medical Center. At present, as of 2017, retired from teaching to expand her private practice and involvement in NYSPA. Dr. Peretz is an active member of the New York State Psychological Association (NYSPA). She is the recent Past President of the Queens Psychological Association and current (2018) President of the Psychoanalysis Division of NYSPA.
