ABOUT CONNIE KNIGHT

I am experienced education practitioner who is currently working as an Assistant Head and SENDCO in a large special school for children with autism and speech, language and communication needs. Springfields Academy caters for children age 4-19. I hold a masters degree in SEND and specialise in Autism and communication needs. I also hold the NASENCO award as well as additional specific qualifications in SEND. I also work as an autism advisor across Wiltshire and neighbouring counties. In addition to this I work alongside Wiltshire Local Authority as a Leading practitioner for inclusion. I am a facilitator for the NASENCO award, training SENDCOs from across the south west. I have worked with Springfields through their OFSTED grading and also their NAS advanced accreditation. I have also worked closely with the deputy head to work on strategic development changes to the organisation. On a personal level, I support my family in running a charity orphanage in Romania - Little Johns House. We support a few permanent children and then support hundreds of children in local orphanages and homes across Sibiu and local areas. I continually strive for change and improvement for young people with special needs.
