CSICU Clinical Nurse II- Provide inpatient care to critically ill patients in the intensive care setting following heart and vascular surgical procedures, focusing on recovery from anesthesia, pain control and normalization of hemodynamics. Patient population and acuity includes coronary artery bypass grafts, valve replacements, cardiogenic shock, STEMI/NSTEMI, vascular surgeries, acute respiratory failure, acute kidney injury, and septic shock- Manage care of patients who require mechanical ventilation, vasoactive medications, invasive devices (such as Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy), and invasive/noninvasive hemodynamic monitoring- Preceptor for new hires through shadowing opportunities- Unit involvement through staff meetings, Unit Practice Council meetings, continuing medical education and participation in unit improvement through initiatives and clinical improvement strategies.
