About Conner Lay

I am a 2023 graduate from the Honors College at Grand Canyon University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports and Entertainment Management. During my time at GCU, I worked as a Student Manager in Analytics for the Division I GCU Baseball Team for 2 seasons, where I achieved proficiency in advanced scouting and worked with technologies such as Synergy, TruMedia, XOS Digital, Yakkertech, and more. Post-graduation, I became a Trackman Operator for the Seattle Mariners in the Arizona Complex League for 2 seasons, as well as 2 additional seasons in the Arizona Fall League. These experiences led me to my current position as a Minor League Technology Assistant with the Colorado Rockies. I am excited to continue on the path God has for me as I further my career in pro baseball!

1. Minor League Technology Assistant

   Jan 2025 — Present · Scottsdale, AZ, US

   Responsible for the implementation of day-to-day internal video and technology operations associated with the Scottsdale, AZ based minor league team, coaching staff, players, coordinators, and front office. Capture, tag and upload video using BATS software and Trackman for all games for the duration of the season. Collect video and data from bullpens, batting practice, and defensive work. Assist in the use of Baseball Technology (Rapsodo, Edgertronic, Blast Motion, PitchBase, TruMedia, etc.) and disseminate information as necessary. Assist coaching staff with various video and data related projects and requests. Create in-house videos as needed for purposes of demonstration, teaching, and development. Assist in the hitting/pitching lab, as requested. Run the Pitch Clock during home games. Assist in running audio/visual components, and computers for presentations in meetings throughout the season. Perform other duties as assigned by front office.
